Brief Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Required Tools

1. Park vehicle on flat ground, shut down engine and wait for full cooling to prevent scalding from hot high-temperature coolant.
2. Lift the front of the vehicle and drain all engine coolant into a sealed collection container.
3. Disconnect the vehicle battery negative terminal, then unplug the 3-pin electrical connector from the auxiliary pump.
4. Clamp the cooling hoses connected to both pump ports, release hose clamps and separate pipelines from the pump’s inlet/outlet joints.
5. Loosen pump mounting bolts and remove the old faulty 06H121601F auxiliary pump assembly.
6. Thoroughly clean the mounting bracket surface and pipe connecting ports to remove residual coolant, dirt and aging sealant debris.
7. Apply a thin layer of rubber sealing lubricant to the pipe joint gaskets of the new pump, align and secure the auxiliary pump onto the factory mounting bracket.
8. Tighten all mounting bolts to Audi/VW specified torque values, reconnect cooling hoses and lock hose clamps firmly.
9. Reconnect the electrical plug and battery negative terminal, refill fresh OEM-spec coolant and fully bleed trapped air from the cooling circuit.
10. Start the engine, set the cabin heater to maximum temperature and idle for 10 minutes to test pump operation; inspect all pipe joints for coolant leakage and confirm stable hot air output.
