Brief Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Required Tools

1. Park vehicle on flat ground, fully cool down engine to avoid hot coolant scalding.
2. Lift front vehicle and drain all engine coolant into a sealed collection pan.
3. Disconnect negative battery terminal, unplug the 3-pin electrical connector from auxiliary pump.
4. Clamp cooling hoses on both pump ports, remove hose clamps and separate pipes from pump.
5. Loosen pump mounting bolts and remove the old faulty auxiliary pump assembly.
6. Clean mounting bracket surface and hose pipe connections of residual coolant and dirt.
7. Apply thin layer of rubber sealing grease to new pump pipe joints, align and install the A0005002686 pump.
8. Tighten all mounting bolts to Mercedes specified torque value, reconnect cooling hoses and secure clamps.
9. Plug electrical connector back in, reconnect battery negative terminal, refill vehicle with fresh coolant and bleed air from cooling circuit fully.
10. Start engine, turn on heater to maximum and run idle for 10 minutes to test pump operation, check for coolant leakage and stable cabin heating output.
