Brief Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Required Tools

1. Park vehicle on flat ground, shut down engine and wait for full cooling to prevent scalding by hot engine oil and high-temperature components.
2. Lift vehicle and remove engine upper decorative cover, drain all engine lubricating oil into sealed collection container.
3. Lock crankshaft and camshaft at standard timing position with dedicated Mercedes timing tools.
4. Disassemble timing chain front cover, release hydraulic timing chain tensioner and remove timing chain assembly.
5. Loosen central fixing bolt of old exhaust camshaft adjuster, pull the defective VVT gear out from camshaft spline slowly.
